You can disregard what I don't like...

...because my reasons would be my lack of fondness for the happy hardcore genre. ;) The dinging of the children's musicbox sound and the line "Grab a beer" sounds like an episode of Nickalodeon's Rugrats gone wrong. However, the song itself is alright. If there's anything about this genre that I can appreciate, it's the positive, motivating energy, and this song has it in large amounts. The rhythm is great, though.

Thank you for your awesome review man :)
You should really check out Ioneofmany's newgrounds account, if you like the energy this song has, his original verision is way better :D

I like what you did with this song.

Though the drums are a bit overpowering, I'm not here to judge the quality of the instruments or program. This is a pretty damn good remix. The intro is my favorite part. The darker undertone leading up to a burst of energy. To be honest, this is not one of my favorite Megaman songs, but I do like what you did with it. Great job!

Thanks for the review.

Obviously, my main problem is the fact that Garageband is hard to... well, be "realistic" with. If I only had a decent program, maybe I could put out some better stuff.

But thanks. ^_^

Not bad.

I can appreciate wanting to keep it simple yet catchy, which seems lost nowadays when everyone is trying to make their music complicated and unique.

As I listen, I more-so imagine a day in the life of the main character of the Harvest Moon series. Seems like this song would be perfect in a flash video game. If I were to offer any criticism, it would be that the rhythm piano is a little repetitive. It's not so much the melody as it is the timing. Almost like a piano metronome.

Cmdtrigun responds:

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, and thanks for your advice. I'll try to work on not sounding like a metronome i spose :)

OMG!!!!!!

My EVERYTHING'S BLEEDING!!!!

OneRealMusician responds:

you;re ears are sensativee

Almost wrote this one off...

...but after listening it a little more out of fairness, I'm glad I did. It's quite alright! 1 take, huh? Was there to voice talents in the room, or was this all one person? Either way, I like it.

"No, nonononononono, wait wait wait wait." lol

Falonefal responds:

All one person, except some weird girl sound somewhere at the beginning, 't was my sister yelling something random.

But all other voices are from me, Dawg is done cleanly, and Bob is through a megaphone.

Thanks for listening to it :)

Excellent!

It's funny how you're going to automatically receive 10's across the board on the merits:

1. It's a video game remix, and
2. It's a song from a terrific game, totally worth of a conclusion (Legends 3).

That note aside, this song deserves a 10 on its own merits alone. The quality is great (I very much like the chorus towards the end). I haven't played this game in years, so I don't remember what the original song sounded like, but I'm thinking it was somewhere around the end, maybe?

Anyways, this song is definitely going on my study time playlist. 5 and a 10!

ProudOne responds:

Ah, yes i have noticed that too. Seems like people love the familiar.

Thank you very much though, i seldom get high praise in this fashion.

Nice!

Really enjoy the middle section of the song. It almost got an Opeth-esque nature to it, if not a Chimera influence, but only their instrumental stuff. I like your style none-the-less, as it's got a unique flare to it. Keep up the good work.

ElektrikWizrD responds:

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words!

You'll be happy to hear this...

I play a game with my friend where I play him a video game song and tell him to guess what it is. With this song being named "Geno Whirled" I thought it might be the Geno Forest theme, so I told him to guess it (before I listened to it and realized that it's not from any existing game). He said, "Sounds like it's from one of the Pokemon games".

Great song, man!

GenoWhirled responds:

That's awesome. He probably thought it sounded like Pokemon because of the iconic intro. I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the review. You made my day, bro.

Excellent!!!

I've not much to say beyond the header, but felt this needed a written review.

Did you use some sort of vocoder?

broosree responds:

I used a very sensitive setting on a pitch correction filter, yes. I do lots of choral stuff in my songs and this is the first time I've used pitch correction. It was very freeing, but the sound is distinctive so it's not something I'll probably do terribly often. One of my other songs on this site uses it, but I'm not too happy with that one. I'm more pleased with the result on this track.

Glad you like it - thanks for the review!

Very interesting.

The first 15 seconds of the song almost led me to beleive this song would be a 2, but after listeneing to the whole thing through, I must say...very interesting. Though it didn't turn me into a quantum physicist of sorts, it did make for an enjoyable, if not unique musical experience. The second half is where it really shines, especially around 1:17 and after. Hopefully people give a listen beyond 20 seconds before submitting a review.

On a funny side note, the whole time I listened to this song, I thought of Imakuni (I'm probably a little off on that) from Pokemon Trading Card Game.

xenonbirds responds:

Thank you very much! It's good to see some people are actually appreciating my style. :)
